Former President Donald Trump’s recent promotion of the leather-bound “God Bless the USA” Bible during Holy Week has ignited a flurry of reactions from Christian scholars and activists. The move has drawn accusations that he is inappropriately mixing politics and religion, The Christian Post reported.
In a video posted on Truth Social, Trump proudly displayed the Bible alongside musician Lee Greenwood, whose patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA” often featured at Trump’s rallies. The leather-bound Bible, priced at $59.99, includes the King James Version and contains not only Scripture, but also significant American documents: the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and even the handwritten chorus to Greenwood’s song.
While some social conservatives have applauded Trump’s endorsement, progressive Christian leaders have expressed concern. The debate has been lively, highlighting the delicate balance between faith, patriotism, and political symbolism.
