Faith leaders – including NAMB's Shane Pruitt – criticize Taylor Swift album for mocking God, 'anti-Christian' lyrics
Taylor Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has garnered criticism from faith leaders who have expressed their distaste with the lyrical content that they believe mocks God and Christians, reported The Christian Post.
Critics have voiced concern over lyrics in the album – released on April 26 – which seem to suggest that Christians are both hateful and judgmental.
Shane Pruitt, National Next Gen Director for the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, wrote in a Facebook post that there is a difference between being secular and being “Anti-Christian.” He urged Christian parents to seriously consider not allowing their children to listen to Swift's music.
