Kamala Harris wants Christians to fund ‘fundamental freedom’ to have an abortion
Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris stirred controversy Oct. 22 among Christian leaders with her unwavering pro-abortion stance, which she expressed during an interview with NBC. Harris announced her opposition to religious exemptions and labeled abortion as a “fundamental freedom.”
During the interview, NBC’s Hallie Jackson questioned Harris about specific concessions she would be willing to make to garner support from congressional Republicans for a pro-abortion bill that she has pledged to pursue if elected to the White House in two weeks.
Rather than providing a direct answer, Harris chose to criticize pro-life laws in red states, referring to them as “Trump abortion bans.” When pressed again about potential concessions with a Republican-controlled Congress, particularly regarding religious exemptions, Harris emphasized that she does not believe concessions should be made regarding the fundamental freedom to make decisions about one’s own body.
