Lifeway survey finds more churches are supporting crisis pregnancy centers after Roe v. Wade was overturned, but that a majority still don't
The Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization in June 2022 allowed states to pass abortion laws, leading to increased attention to local pregnancy resource centers.
A Lifeway Research study found that 31% of U.S. Protestant churchgoers have seen at least one congregational connection with these centers since the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
A survey of Americans conducted before the decision revealed that almost two-thirds agreed that churches and religious organizations have a responsibility to increase support for women with unwanted pregnancies if their state restricts access to abortion.
However, the majority of Protestant churches in the U.S. do not support pregnancy resource centers either separately or as part of their church.
