Russia pulls out of port as Israel sinks ships and destroys Syrian air defenses; prayer urged for ongoing conflict in region
Israeli Defense Forces have conducted air strikes on Syrian ports, successfully sinking remnants of Assad’s Navy and significantly degrading Syria’s air defenses, according to numerous published reports. The action has created a strategic opportunity for Israel to potentially target Iran’s nuclear sites with reduced risk, as Israeli leaders believe the conditions for an attack have improved following recent military actions.
In light of weakened support from Hezbollah and Iran, U.S. officials are suggesting that Hamas may be nearing a deal to release hostages, including Americans being held there. U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan indicated that Hamas has become increasingly isolated and may recognize that external support is not forthcoming, making a negotiation for hostages more likely.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu has addressed the Iranian populace directly, urging them to rise against their oppressive regime. He emphasized how the Iranian government has squandered vast amounts of money supporting foreign conflicts, arguing that the regime’s failures in Syria, Gaza, and Lebanon highlight its decay and the potential for change in Iran.
Iranian-born Marziyeh Amirizadeh, who was arrested and given a death sentence, which is recounted in the book, “A Love Journey with God,” told CBN News, “This evil regime (Iran) is so brutal. They are killing people. There are hundreds, thousands of people in prisons. They executed, people just, this year, they executed about thousands of people.”
She added that during her five years in Iran, she spoke with many Iranians who are exhausted by the Islamic Republic and its oppressive rules. Amirizadeh encourages Christians to pray for the Iranian people.
“So we can pray for the fall of this regime that finally, Iranians get back their freedom. But above that, the most important thing that is my prayer (is) for the Kingdom of God (would) come to Iran and Iranians find the truth through Jesus Christ.”
