'Tech Guru' Rod D. Martin, former SBC Executive Committee member, writes about culture, religion, and the economy on Substack

Rod D. Martin, a successful businessman and former member of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee, is on Substack and he is someone you need to read.
The Rod Martin Report occasionally discusses activities of the Southern Baptist Convention and religion in general, along with a variety of topics including culture, geopolitics, tech, and the economy. A description of his Substack reads, “The Rod Martin Report offers daily in-depth analysis and actionable intelligence on issues you NEED TO understand, in geopolitics, economics, and advancing technology, all from a Christian worldview.”
Martin resigned from the SBC Executive Committee in October 2021 after the body waived attorney-client privilege at the request of a task force appointed to oversee an investigation into whether it mishandled allegations of sexual abuse.
He said the EC deliberately chosen to breach their “legal and fiduciary duties” by choosing to waive attorney-client privilege, stating it was a “foolish” decision.
In a recent Substack post, Martin detailed new investments the United States is experiencing from abroad as a result of policies of the Trump Administration.
“Since President Donald J. Trump took office, his unwavering commitment to revitalizing American industry has spurred more than $8 Trillion dollars of investments in U.S. manufacturing, production, and innovation – and the list only continues to grow,” writes Martin. “Needless to say, this is unprecedented in American history. And it’s all happened in just 100 days.”
On May 4 Martin re-posted an article from 2024 titled, “Why the SBC is Worth Fighting For.”
Martin writes, “For many, the Southern Baptist Convention seems like a lost cause. From Critical Race Theory, to the leadership’s cavalier disregard for financial transparency, to sex abuse issues, to the heartbreakingly narrow defeat of the Law Amendment (61%-39%, with two-thirds required), many conservatives are at least considering leaving. Don’t. The SBC is worth fighting for. Maybe ‘God doesn’t need the Southern Baptist Convention,’ as some always say. But you do. More than you realize.”
